Healing cancer through Dog Therapy!!!

Myfuffy

As we all say “Man’s best friend”; My dog waits for me by the door, face smiling, mouth open and tail wagging, standing up on his hind legs, and reaching with his front paws towards me for a hug and ready to dote on me, his best friend in the world. My worries, ego, anger gets gratified at the sight of my happy dog who can’t wait to greet me at the end of a hard day.
Such is the intent of dogs who spreads positive energy in and around you with their unconditional love, loyalty, acceptance and affection, playfulness and companionship. They are a part of our family and always there for us, day and night, sharing in every activity from right from breakfast to dinner :).
They are special to us however they now even have a special standing in the medical world. Trained to see for the blind, hear for the deaf and move for the immobilized, dogs have become indispensable companions for people with illness. They, in particular, also have been shown to do remarkable things to improve the health of their owners.
More recently, some studies have suggested dogs can be cancer detectors. In 2006, the medical journal Integrative Cancer Therapies reported how ordinary house dogs could identify breast and lung cancer patients by smelling their breath. A University of Maine study is testing whether dogs can sniff out ovarian cancer.

There have been now cases across the world now where the hospitals are arranging dog visits for patients who are dog owners and study confirms that post the visits the health of the patients seem to improve significantly.
As I have said before being positive is the key to fight cancer and who else other than your best friend can help you fight it and always remember “Your dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself” so love your dog and be positive :).
